Why Do We Need To Test
There are various factors that can lead to an electrical installation to degrade over time.

Along with issues like external influences (rain/snow/ice), extreme heat and possibly exposure to chemicals, one area that often effects the safety of electrical installations is the maintenance, or in many cases, the lack of maintenance.

It is important as either a landlord, leaseholder or owner to know how often your premises should undertake an inspection and there are a few options;

The recommended frequency for commercial premises is every 5 years, but for larger sites this is often broken down into smaller more managerable jobs. As long as 100% of the site is tested over the course of the 5 years, there is no reason that 20% cannot be completed each year. This not only reduces the impact on the business, it also spreads the costs across 5 years.
